The coffee bean are what gives the coffee its taste and aroma. Beside that, coffee bean also have substances in them that have many benefits. They contain caffeine which is a stimulate that keeps people alert and prevent sleepiness. Another substance in coffee beans that are beneficial is antioxidants. Coffee are known to have high level of antioxidants in them. Antioxidants provide protection against liver and colon cancer, type 2 diabetes, and Parkinson’s disease, according to some recently published studies.
Coffee beans comes from many different places around the world. The origin is what gives the coffee beans their distinctive characteristics such as flavor, body or mouthfeel, caffeine content, and acidity. These also depend on the local environment where the coffee is grown and how they are processed.
Some of the well-known coffee beans include: Colombian, Colombian Milds, Ethiopian Harrar, Hawaiian Kona, Jamaican Blue Mountain, and Java. There are many more available and they can be found at most supermarket and coffee shop. In supermarket, they usually sell only the top selling brand so your choices may be limited. If you want a wider selection of coffee, try a coffee shop such as Starbucks.
Some coffee bean varieties are so well-known and the demand for them are so high that they are far more expensive than the others. The two examples are Hawaiian Kona coffees and Jamaican Blue Mountain. These coffee beans are often blend with other, less expensive coffee beans. If they are blended, you will see on the package labeled with the suffix “blend” added to the name.
With so many different coffee beans on the market, it can be overwhelming to choose that perfect one. The best way to find the right coffee beans is to try each one. Sometimes, it taste better when the coffee beans are mixed with another variety. After trying them all, you should be able to narrow down to that perfect coffee beans.
